That’s right, you can now send longer messages to your friends from your Cheezburger profile. We’ve raised the limit to 2500 characters, so like long cat your messages can be loooooong.
Also, we are adding a handy little counter that will appear when you are getting close to the limit. It will tell you exactly how many characters you have left, like your very own personal awards show orchestra, telling you to “wrap it up”.
UPDATE: The cheeztechs are working on adding the character counter to the “About Me” text box now. Stay tuned, it’s coming! And thank you for all your suggestions.

Would really like to see links, but ONLY with established users. Maybe only allow people to post active links after 90 days probation.. I dunno.. just afraid of a spam-cesspool.

Excellent, a quality upgrade. Can we also have more room to tell about ourselves on our profile please, say 50% more and also a character counter?

That’s good, but we would like to be able to make longer comments on the LOLs please! We seem to be limited to one line at a time!

Do you mean when you go to view a LOL and enter a comment in the box near the bottom of the page? You should be able to enter a comment there up to 3000 characters. Are you getting limited to something shorter than that? If so, there may be a technical glitch going on. Let me know and I can look into it for you. Thanks!

Ohai Olivia. The box inexplicably shrunk to the size of a single line making it hard to use. Two browsers (Chrome and Safari) allowed the box to be stretched by the bottom right corner but IE8, Opera and Firefox didn’t allow that. Another user reported it and it has now been fixed. (These things happen, don’t they? *smile*)
That’s very odd…kittehs chewing on the servers again, perhaps.

I second both the above comments. But does this mean we have to learn blogspeak? (ipsum dolor sit amet etc.) What does that *mean*? It was hard enough to learn *lolspeak*!

Thanks, this is great, what peeps have been requesting for a long time! Please do this for our profiles as well. Also, I’ve noticed the counter doesn’t appear until you’re nearing the limit. (“200 2500 char limit”) Would it be possible to have it present as soon as we start typing? Thanks!

Olivia…is there any way that you can get in contact with a cheezfriend -of course with their permission? I have a cheezfriend in my home state which I would really like to connect up with, but I can’t leave any email address without everyone else seeing it???

One request we’ve gotten quite often is to have the ability to send private messages, which would allow you to then communciate stuff you don’t want to post publicly, like an email address. I can’t say when for certain, but we know we definitely want to do something like this. Sorry I don’t have an immediate solution for you, but I can say we will be working on it. Thing I’ve been wondering for a while: is there any way to grade or sort one’s sumbissions in vote order, or some kind of vote counter? I’d like to see which of mine have been found worthy; I’ve got stacks more, and knowing what people seem to like would help me decide which to do next. As it is, i have to click on each of them to see – and when you’ve got a couple of hundred it gets a bit monotonous!
That’s a great idea. We definitely want to give people better ways to sort their LOLs and Favorites, and sorting by “rating” or number of votes might be one way to get the information you are looking for. Overall, we intend to have more features that let you know more about how your LOLs are doing in terms of voting, favoriting, and commenting. We know our system is a bit cumbersome when it comes to making it easy to see which LOLs are most popular and we want to improve that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Why the blue Italic writing of captions on our dashboard? Maybe because I am a little older, it is a little harder for me to read than the boldface black and I think it makes the page look so busy. I love the new improvements and thank you for trying to please all of us. Loves, bkey

That’s great! I see that you get many requests here and I have one more…a forum! A forum for discussions on different topics such as “lolology” would be awesome! Really hope to see that in the future on ICHC. Apart from that the ICHC network is great, the #1 place on the webs for laffs
