Lol by: TuckerBentley

Today we’re happy to introduce our newest Cheezburger Featured User, TuckerBentley.
Check out his interview below and get to know another one of our active and hilarious Cheez peeps!

We’d love to hear the story behind your username!
“Tucker” refers to a habit I had a few years ago of sending nightly bedtime messages to an Internet flame of the time. “Bentley” morphed out of “Slightly Bent,” an old discussion forum handle of mine. By coincidence, both are car brands; and finally, the username rhymes with the title of a Tenacious D song that I won’t mention here in polite company.

How long have you been a member of the Cheezburger community and what made you want to join?
My eldest caption was born without fanfare in April of 2008, on a cell phone photo of my little sister’s cat. At the time my intention was only to use the LOL Builder for a personal utility, but the relentlessly friendly Cheezpeeps won me over and here we are.

What do you look for in a Cheez friend, and what’s the best way to make a new friend?
Let me tell you about the awesome group of friends I run with on ICHC. They’re talented, sociable, and best of all, unselfish. When one makes the front pages, everyone whoops it up and celebrates with congratulatory messages to that featured contributor. It’s a big party, with no end in sight. I would say to new members that if you truly like people and want the best Cheez friends, take your time and look for those qualities I mentioned.

What is your favorite site on Cheezburger and why?
You’re not getting this guy to choose between dogs and cats! I’ll play it safe and say the Historic LOLs site, simply due to the quirky nature of the images made available for captioning. The weirder the picture, the greater the potential for hilarity.

What is it about Cheezburger that makes you happy?
Above all, the fact that it can help keep a body sane. Lolcat therapy, with all of the laughs and camaraderie involved, should never be underestimated.

Tell us something super interesting about yourself—an embarrassing story, a quirky habit, something that will make us laugh!
My pleasure! There’s nothing more enjoyable to me than making someone laugh. One night several years ago, in fact, my then-wife went out with friends to see a male stripper show, with a plan to be home around midnight. When 1 a.m. rolled around with her still out partying, she called to let me know she’d be late. It was clear from her tone that she mistakenly thought I would be upset, and that gave me a fun idea. When the van she was riding in pulled up to the house and let her out, I burst outside and strutted back and forth on the porch, wearing only a pair of ‘tighty whities’ and a child-sized cowboy hat. The van began to pull away, then stopped after about thirty feet. One of her friends had laughed so hard at my dorky antics that she’d wet herself, and now she was obliged to bail out the vinyl bucket seat.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Cheezburgers?
I’d like to say yes out of brand loyalty, but I’ve been on a burger diet before and it about put me under. Better I should live on something healthy, like brown rice with tofu and kelp. That way, too, there would be no worry over pilferage.

If you could create a new feature for Cheezburger members to use on our sites what would it be, and why do we need it?
One thing that would be cool is a filter for our Dashboard feeds, giving us the ability to isolate new lols made, recent buzz among our friends, or–and this is the big one–those glorious “Hooray” front page notifications. That, for those of us hoping to keep up on congrats, could prove to be a minor godsend.

What else do you like to do when you’re not on the Internet?
Sometimes I’ll go and lose myself in the local wilderness for hours at a time, randomly taking photos of whatever catches my eye, whether it’s the face of a mountain or the face of a bug. Most often, though, if I’m not on the Internet I must be asleep. There’s a fine line between obsession and dedication, and I have erased that line.
