September 30-October 6 is the 30th anniversary of Banned Books Week! You know, that special time of year when we celebrate all of those books that we weren’t supposed to read…but did anyway. It really is fascinating to check out the lists of classics that have been challenged or banned, along with other books that have been challenged, and are organized by decade and/or author. Celebrate by pulling out your favorite “dirty” book, and join this community of librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers and readers in their “…support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.” Learn more about getting involved by visiting the Banned Books Week website.
And speaking of books, a unique book club has been created by some Cheez peeps. JeffCatsBookClub gives members the the chance to interact with other literary (and feline-friendly) types! This club generally focuses on filling up their library shelves with a variety of cat-inspired literature like this picture of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey, but recently they’ve decided to try something new. According to the “Book Club Bulletin” they’re going to be filling a new shelf with advertisements. Just think of a product that you want to share and create your own hilarious captioned picture. Book clubs like these are a great way to get involved with the Cheezburger community, so go caption and have fun!

WooHoo for JeffCatsBookClub. A great place to share litterlolly funnies!
JeffCat had the brilliant idea of the book club and it took off like mad. There are also special sections for books for lil kittehs and goggies (big print, you know), and reviews of books. If you want to spend some happy hours, go through JeffCatsBookClub’s site and enjoy. Jeff RULES!
