We are excited to formally announce that we have launched Cheezburger Comments! When you are signed into your Cheezburger account, your username will automatically post with your comment. If you want to comment using a different username, you will have to sign out of your Cheezburger account, or open a different browser for the time being (we are checking to see if you can comment anonymously while signed into your Cheezburger account). Cheezburger Comments are available in addition to Facebook comments. We are still testing different layout options based on community input.
We’re very appreciative of all the thoughtful feedback you’ve been sending us about the new Cheezburger! Thank you for taking the time to participate in the conversation. Here is some helpful information based on the feedback we’ve been hearing:
We will be introducing new design elements to the content layout such as moving the title to the top of the post, modifying the comment and flag buttons and making the text font easier to read.
Some changes to navigation are being tested and designed based on your feedback.
The Search feature is coming back! We have temporarily removed it so that Dr. Tiny Cat can make it more functional for you to use!
CheezTech is working on improving performance. We know that for some of you the site loads slowly, and we will get this fixed soon.

You could prelude it “Join the Cheezburger Community (make that a link to sign up page) … Comment With Your Account Here!” (Cheezburger Comment Box) … Post to Faceboop Here (Faceboop Comment Box)” …just feedback… actually it is what I have been battling for for weeks… and we all know how well my last feedback worked. $:)
Hi hmph! We are not sure if they are going to go above or side-by-side. If side-by-side the Cheezburger comments will appear on the left. The designers are still working on it!

Abysmal. Endless page feature, with no clear ending at bottom-scrol to bottom, loads again, scroll to bottom, loads again…etc… is _bad design_. The current bottom of page allows you to pick another area and jump there directly–and with much finer selection detail than the tabs at top of page.
That’s only the beginning of the bad design elements used in the ‘new improved’ version.

I hate it as well. No matter what browser I’m in, if I click a cheezburger link not directly on the page, it crashes and freezes the browser. And yes, I cleared cookies and cache and did voodoo while holding a live chicken over the screen. Every. Single. Time. Old Cheezburger forever, or I’ll not be visiting any of the sites anymore.
The new design is a HASSLE for those of us who have internet that is too slow to load a giant page alllllll at once.

TOTALLY agree – what a crap website this has become. What a shame. Why can nobody leave well enough alone when it was a coherent, easy to navigate, NOT a time-wasting unorganized mess?! These “improvements” are NOT improvements. Ruined the site.
Totally agree with “scott butcher,” the new design is absolutely terrible. The previous design was easy to use and accessible, even allowing links to other memebase and cheezburger sites. The new design lacks titles, makes commenting more difficult, takes forever to load, and frankly, just looks plain awful.
I agree. New format makes no *improvement* to the site, it’s just change for the sake of change. Dump it.
I’ve gotten to like the new design EXCEPT for infinite scrolling. That, I’ve grown to detest. It takes forever to load, even though I have a very robust computer. It should be optional, if not removed. I doubt I’d be able to look at it much as work, due to the slow performance. And I mostly look at the site during slow moments at work, so I doubt I’d visit much at all if they keep it & make it mandatory.
It runs a helluva lot slower on my computer now. D8 Ads get in the way of memes occasionally. The endless scrolling takes a while to load.

I read the Memebase pages frequently, Superheroes, I Can Haz Cheezburger, Very Demotivational, but I cannot stand this new design.
I hate that every time I scroll down instead of clicking next page, I’m hit with an automatic loading of the next page on the same page which sets me back at the top, then I have to scroll back down which, when I do so, does it all over again.
I have to exit out of that tab and go back to the site to even see beyond page 1 and 2.
I love the work the staff has done with the sites and the updates, but this is one of the most annoying things I have ever seen on any site. >.>
I’m the same. I used to go through at least 10+ themed pages everyday. now I maybe come to the site couple times a week because of how annoying the new site is.
I really don’t like the new set up and over all I can’t stand it.
You should just keep the old page design.
I just think this design is very ugly. The text is much too small. I’ve also noticed when I look at the comments of a picture when I hit the back button, it scrolls down at least a page and I have to scroll back up to find where I left off. It also runs extremely slow, even with NoScript/AdBlock installed.
It was fine the way it was, there’s no real need trying to get used to a new layout.
Sorry, but you missed the mark with your new site. It’s difficult to navigate between your different sites, there’s a lack of info on the picture posting, and it takes a GOD AWFUL amount of time to load.
I think it looks too much like 9Gag. Yuck.
Something to improve your revenue, I have a 1280×1024 res 19′ screen and the ads on the sidebards are a bit hidden and theres a scroll bar, use adaptative design. Best wishes. Your network is an insipiration for my company.

I miss the titles as well. I don’t want to have to hover over the tabs to read them from the page’s <title> tags.

Horrible new design. Loads slow, very jerky when using smooth scrolling, and it just feels wrong on some level. Stick with it and I won’t stick around.
Definitely a significant slowdown, as well as, frankly, too much white space. I don’t like that I see the picture, then have to search for the caption off to the side. The layout before was much smoother. Sure, it wasn’t all “Web 2.0″-y, but that’s what I liked about it! I have been avoiding the new layout for some time, and now I can’t avoid it on some of the pages. I don’t like the Facebook-esque layout of the pages, and now that some of my favorite commentators and mods are gone, I only feel like popping in when I really really REALLY am trying to avoid work. Otherwise, it is just too frustrating for me.
Oh! The titles are still on the page. XD I didn’t see them way over there on the side.

Old way works fine .. new way as said above .. endlessly goes on. Why do people have to “fix” things that aren’t broken? You took something that works really well .. easy to navigate and turned it into impossible to navigate. SmokingGun lost me because of their “new improved” weather channel lost me because of their “new improved” and the list goes on. You will probably lose me because of your “new and improved”.

The new layout is terrible. There was nothing wrong with the old one, don’t change something that doesn’t need fixing.
Please make it stop! My whole laptop freezes just while the page loads. This site is probably my all time favorite. Please don’t fix what ain’t broke!!

It doesn’t work very well. I typically end up reverting to the old one because it was at least semi-functional.
All of your sites now look horribly cluttered and busy to me. The amount of banner ads and other pop-ups make for a very annoying user experience, I’m highly discouraged from visiting any of your sites again in the future– they used to be such a great diversion but sadly, I’ll be going elsewhere.
It doesn’t work well on low RAM machines. There’s too much going on for my netbook to run it properly. Before you say my netbook is crap or not supposed to run it. It plays videos and music on youtube fine, as well as the video adverts at the side of pages.

Hate hate HATE the endless scrolling! Please go back to the pages. If I want to share something with my family I could gauge where it was. Now that’s impossible. Unless someone has no life I don’t see the point in running the whole section together.
The way the page loads to become one endless page sucks. It means I can no longer use the page numbers as a bookmark and that my computer lags very hard.
Having said that, I love the way you’re trying to improve my lols.

This site keeps getting worse and worse. It was much better when everything is simple, but these ‘cool’ features that you’re adding makes it slow and annoying. It takes so much longer to load a page than it used to. Next thing you know there will be flashing colors and shit that follows my mouse.
Keep it simple. Otherwise everyone will hate you.

It also seems like the old version you give the option to switch back to is broken. Somehow the ad placement is broken causing ads to appear all over the page, pushing content down several scrolls, and blocking links that I’d like to use. Either way it looks terrible. What happened to the old style, when everything actually worked?

People are afraid of change. Just look at folks complaining every time Fuhbuh changes its layout. Granted, the timeline is asinine and a bit of a piece of crap, but the three or four major layout changes prior first received lots of flak… However, after a hot minute users realized that their resistance was largely due to fear and the intrinsic worthlessness and timidity of the ideals their generation at large espouses, and accepted that they’d received mostly improvements. I think this is a similar situation. Less banners’d be nice, but somebody’s got to put food on the table of our pale moderator friends. I’m a fan of your work, Memebuds.
Please, we all want the old version back. Could you do us a favor and put it please? The new one is hard to navigate, is slower and, I don’t know if anyone noticed that one, there is less comments on sections with that new design. The old one was perfect!

Hey guys, the new page looks kinda fun, I can see myself getting used to it. My main suggestion is for more pics per page and less ads – I’m sure I’m not the only person trying to access content on a mobile phone and am also therefore back to the dark ages of plans that limit download – I don’t want to burn it up downloading ads and that makes every new page download a pain (cause the less pics per page, the more pages with headers etc I have to download to see anything). Keep working at it, I only ever look at wins cause I like the positive stuff, and I wish we were allowed to copy pics freely so we could send them on to others and advertise your site in the process, but whatever. You do a great job and I super appreciate having a chance to see the crazy stuff people do and amazing art/nature people capture for the rest to enjoy. The seemingly endless criticism above is testament to how many people are keen to keep looking at your work! Awesome job.
So I’m an infrequent user of the site, mainly Failbog, Failbook, After 12, and Poorly Dressed. Just wanted to pop in and say that the new design is SIGNIFICANTLY slower to load for me. It gets to the point where it causes stuttering in my music when I have iTunes on.
I don’t much like the new look, but I understand the need for or desire to change things up every once in a while. Just don’t make it bog down when loading – I avoid sites that do that.
I can’t find my links to other pages. Layout is ok I suppose I will get used to it but if I have no links I don’t view pages.
The new layout is not very good. It takes way too long to download and the ads are just too much. The endless scrolling is extremely inconvenient when wanting to switch sites. Please return it back to normal. Or at least give a person the option to choose between Beta or regular. Being automatically redirected is horrible since it takes too long to download and messes with all of my browsers.
So . . . fewer, um, “features” per screen, no snarky comments from the “host” of the site, and we’re supposed to like it? You realize you’re becoming one of those sites that’s so overrun with ads that people don’t bother any more, right?

Originally, I was indifferent to the infinite page thing. Now that’s it’s gone, in contrast I really prefer the paginated version. It slowed thigns down much more than I realized.
I’m so glad voting & comments are back! That restores the sense of community that’s really the core of the Cheezburger experience, IMO.
I miss the archives, though! Persusing them was a great way to kill time on slow workdays. Is there any way to acces older content without clicking “back” 3000 times?
I agree about the archives, just a few days ago on the old layout I started looking at pics from 2009, but can’t seem to find that option on this new layout. Going to go press that button that says “back to old cheezburger”.

Hi gang. This is “improvement, however well intended, is an epic fail.You can E-mail me when you put the old site back up. I am NOT coming back for a second helping of this abuse. At the end of the day, it’s all entertainment and you have managed to make viewing the site into work by sucking the joy out of it.

The site certainly LOOKS nice and polished, but my one main complaint is the absence of titles. Not so big a deal when you’re looking at pics, but videos are a whole nuther story. Even the mouse-over doesn’t respond with the videos, so you get a screenshot and have to guess what it might be about. I’m always pretty wary with videos in the first place, but anything over 30 seconds with no title? Fat chance.

The constant hammering your site is giving my browser is bad enough, but the layout isn’t intuitive, the content isn’t terribly accessible, and the speed at which the site renders makes it all but useless on tablets & other CPU lightweights. It’s actually hammering my gaming rig, which I find surprising.

I agree with everyone else who said the old layout was better. It was more intuitive and easier to tell where one page ended and the next one began. I also don’t like that the captions and comments have been moved over to the side in a very visually unappealing way. Please keep it the way it was before.
I like the new layout, and I like the “infinite scrolling” functionality. I especially like the navigation bar at the top of the screen, so I can switch to a different stream at any time without having to scroll up or down.
It would be nice to just have the “title” of each lol on the left above the picture, but I like everything else on the right — gives it a cleaner feel.
I am not having any problems loading, though I can understand that would be a big pain for someone with a slower computer. Actually, it seems faster to me.
I do NOT want to see Facebook comments above the Cheezburger comments! I would prefer the Cheezburger comments first, but would settle for on the left. We’ll see how that looks, but it would depend on the size of the window, wouldn’t it?

I don’t quite understand why, but the ‘new’ sites take a lot longer to load, to the point where everything freezes up when I open a page that’s trying to make me use the ‘new cheezburger’. If it stays that way, I will look for my daily lols elsewhere.
On the other hand I do like that the ratings are back, they help me decide if I want to view the post with vids.
Infinitely long, continuously loading web pages suck. You briefly had pagination on this new format which so you know it is possible to do.
Infinitely long pages that take an eternity to load went out of style about the same time that Geocities did!
Not loving the layout, sometimes “1 2 3… next” won’t show. Also, you didn’t used to show up on my work’s websense radar and now you do.

The new “after 12″ site, and other sites formatted in the same way, are terrible. They’re much slower since the page must reload whenever I scroll down. I can’t skip to any pages, and it’s just not as good as it was before. What ever happened to “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”?
I hate that whenever I try to go to another page, this “New Cheezburger” pops up. It is really annoying and obnoxious. I also miss the voting cheeseburgers which were on the front page. I do not want to have to visit a ‘voting page’ to vote on whether something is good or not. Most of the stuff on here has slowly been deteriorating and people express their displeasure with what is on the front page by giving low votes.
Maybe it’s just me / my computer but one of the things that’s driving me _crazy_ is that it seems every day I come on here and the formatting is never the same. One day, it’s the same old formatting and the next, it’s this new one.
I’m not a huge fan of the new site but for the love of kitties who can’t spell, just pick one!!

Something I like less and less is the increasing overlap between categories, the same picture(s) appearing in many places… what are the categories for if they aren’t followed?

It’s still annoying as crap that I have to refresh over and over again to get some pictures and GIFs to work right, but the addition of manual page navigation is a definite plus. Keep trying!

I’ll be honest: this new design is just terrible. I opt out of it every time it see it. And I will continue to opt out of it.
It loads slowly, it’s cluttered, it’s difficult to navigate, and–worst of all in my opinion–I have to click through to read a complete article or caption. Where is the ease of use in that? The old layout of the site was so much more functional and it was so much easier to scan and scroll through without all these clickthroughs and cuts. It made browsing much more enjoyable.
I really do wish you’d just go back to the old layout or keep the opt-out permanent. It’s just impossible to use the new layout.
It’s way better now! Just stop switching back and forth between new and old! I like the thumbs up/thumbs down option and the menu at the top. The only problem is the enormous advertising banner at the top. I like the endless scrolling, even though others are annoyed with it. Can you compromise and post more per page?
The HUGE add, being the first thing you see, is obnoxious. Makes me absolutely hate jack in the box when before I couldn’t care less about them.
Any chance you could NOT load the comments via Javascript? I’ve given up on figuring out what part of my anti-ad, anti-tracking stack of browser plugins, tweaks, and hacks is keeping them from loading.

CB doesn’t make you pay for a profile or any silly stuff like that.
You might see ads for cheezburger swag which is the only ad cheezburger produces, but other than that how else are they supposed to get money to keep the site running?
Almost every website to some degree runs on some form of ad revenue.
The ads aren’t THAT annoying to deal with, yes some of the video ads will bog down people’s computers.

The new site is awful. I can’t figure out where anything is, and the screen jumps when I’m trying to scroll. And with all the ads EVERYWHERE, I can’t click ANYWHERE. I enjoy looking at the Failbook section, but I got so frustrated tonight that I just had to quit and find a place to comment. (Took me forever to find this page as well).
Basically, the new site sucks and it makes my computer freeze. And with all the ads, I can’t figure out what the heck is going on. It shouldn’t take me 15 minutes to look at 3 pages on here.
If something isn’t broken, don’t fix it! The old site was great! I don’t think I want to come back here unless you get rid of this stupid new layout.

I’m fine with the fact that you give the option to not use the new cheezburger, as this way those who like it can use it and those who don’t (like me) don’t have to. However, the fact that you’re forcing all of your new sites to use it is, quite frankly, an awful idea. It makes it so that now if I try to switch back and forth from the style I like and the style I don’t, I have to change my options every time I get back from the new site. It just isn’t the same as the old cheezburger.
Yeah I hate this new layout. Commenting is so much harder.
I liked the old Cheezburger a lot more. It felt original. Everyone and their grandmother uses this “clean white with soft colors and big buttons” format now. And that’s on top of the high load times and 1001 other problems noted in the other comments. It would work for a mobile app, but it’s a terrible desktop format.
I’m somewhat surprised you guys don’t have a shoutbox. Not just in general but for these sorts of things when you’e looking for quick feedback. In the future it would be interesting to see a cheezburger chat. I’m sure it would get epic pageviews.
Anyway, to the gripes I’ll make a fine whine with:
Comenting is a bit difficult, but it wasn’t much easier on the old cheezburger. You still had to click the image first, which linked off and took you off of the home page, making you loose your place and having to do a mess of scrolling to get back to where you were. Which is my biggest gripe.
I like the new set up over all but:
1:You can’t really middle mouse click on the drop down menu to open options in another tab.
2: The font you chose for the drop down menu on the new cheezburger has some issues withthe letters L and I. It makes it look like it says “fall blog” “fallbook” “learn from my fall” etc. Which provided me with a lol at first, but now it’s become somewhat irksome. I took a screen cap of it an can post it if this went otherwise ignored or un-noticed.
3: The commenting system lacks in the fact that you have to click the picture and link off then navigate back to where you were before all of that, or middle mouse button it and comment in a new tab. This makes it something of a bother just to leave a comment.
You have a huge “share” button and “post to” button. Why not a comment button rather than having to click it or middle-mouse-button-click it to leave a comment?
Though, I understand this would mean implementing something like a mini drop down menu with a similar comment box to the one I’m typing into now, and that would take some time for your coders to plug away at.
It would be worth it though if it would increase ease of use in the long run. which it would.

Hey! Sorry if that has been said before, I didn’t read all the comments. But lately whenever I open one of the sites for the very first time it takes maybe 30 seconds or a minute till it’s fully loaded. It freezes the whole computer, no matter which computer I use. Even on my phone. You should really look into that.

While I’ve not experienced the long load that others have, I have to say that the whole design feels very sterile and homogenous. Before, each of the subsections had a bit of their own personality. Now, everything just feels all samey, and dull.
This might be a petty complaint, but seriously, the infinate scroll is a pain in the @$$. The footer space never comes, and that is what i commonly use to navigate between the different areas. I dont know if i am the only one, but really, do whatever you want with the UI (however, headings on the right side of the tile? Doesn’t that sort of belie the entire purpose of a HEADING?), but give me my bottom menu back.
Seriously, its not as bad as what stumbleupon, target & a bunch of other suckers who bought into “new-age” UI design, but really you lost me on 90% of the changes you made. Call me old, whatever, but it’s just making the web harder to use.

kudos on the ads, dudes. about time you all got paid for giving me an outlet for my procrastination and a way to fill my sick need to watch people face-plant.
I find this layout horrible. It’s much less pleasant to browse than the old one, and the text on the side of the picture – on the RIGHT side, when typically one would want the title *before* the picture – makes it look like a badly implemented free template coming from someone who doesn’t know the first thing about usability.
Also notice how the number of comments seems to have dropped sharply; I surmise most users dislike this layout so strongly that they are leaving.
Either go back to the previous layout or hire someone who knows what usability means, and why it’s more important than making your site look all shiny.
Yes, please move the blurb about the picture back to the top. It’s too difficult to re-train my eye to look to the right of the picture, after 5 years of seeing it over the top. I’ve trained myself to ignore the right side filled with ads and clutter, so now, it’s like…gah… hed asploded!
Your beta sites are terrible. They always cause Chrome to crash and they have too much white space. Everything was fine the way it was.
Sigh – I thought Lolcats wasn’t supposed to change. Where are all my friends’ comments? This format makes my browser freeze often. I haven’t been able to use the sci-fi site either since you’ve made this change. Yes, some of the pictures/captions are still cute, but the community and support and world-wide friendships were something unique.

You’re really broken a totally perfect high class site! Where are the links to all your sites like you used to have at the bottoms of each page? Why so few posts on each page of each site? Do you really think your fans that check in here are that stupid that we’d put up with this kind of junk? I’d say at it’s best it’s a total step back to high school type web design 101! People of Walmart now has you totally beat and that’s were I’ll be spending my time. At least it actually works and has links!
You’d think you web guys would learn from the big error NetFlicks made and almost went out of business. If it works (like your old sites did) don’t fix it! No links to your other sites, not enough posts! It’s geared toward the average brainless web surfer! How about featuring yourself on “Fail Blog!”

I really do not the new look. The tabs are hiden and the layout is just blah. The regular view is much better and easier to read the comments. I really hope that you do not choose to do this view. It is just like being forced to go to the timeline view on facebook. Just not happy with this.

It makes no sense to have the caption off to the right of the picture. We read from left to right, moving downwards. Moving the captions either back above the picture, or to the left, would make this a whole lot better.
Is there any way to get the old design back? up until recently I had the old design, but after a reinstall of windows I don’t have it anymore and I cant seem to find it either.
Hi there. I’m a regular person around here, I visit often whenever I have time. The beta version looks good, I have to say. But here are some of what I think should be brought back.
1. Please bring back the pages at the bottom and at the top. This makes it easier to travel from one place to the next.
2. Bring back the WordPress option in the comments area. It’s almost as if only people with Cheezburger accounts are the only ones to show their gravatars.
3. Please return the comments button on the bottom of every post. It get’s hard to find out how to get to the comments page.
I’d really appreciate it if you could do these changes. I really like the old Memebase better. Simple and easy. Thanks for taking the time to read this. -Private614
There seems to be a lot of debate over the new endless page system. Personally I enjoy it but as others have said it can be too slow for computers to load so why not have it as an option? Whether you choose to have page turning buttons or just an endless stream of pages, that way everyone wins!
Meh…where’s the option to only see captions? Don’t want to see vids and “other” pics.

I like having the links to each subsite across the top, e.g. “FAIL Home” “FAIL Nation” “WIN!” etc.
My entire computer – not just my browser (Chrome) – froze for at least a minute while the site was loading. It’s not a wonderful computer but it isn’t a laptop either, so I’d imagine there are a lot of people with worse computers. Additionally, we get decent download speeds where I work since we are a web development company.
Also, it’s much easier on the eyes reading straight down the page instead of having to look over to the right for the title, back to the left for the picture, and then repeat all the way down. I didn’t even see that the title was over there until I read someone else’s comment, either – I figured it had just been taken out.
This reminds me of the changes Damn You Autocorrect recently made to their site (although theirs is worse – only one image per page and giant ads on the “next” button). I’ve actually stopped using their main website and started looking at the images on their rss feed (bad layout: http://www.damnyouautocorrect.com/page/ vs good layout: http://feeds.feedburner.com/autocorrect). I’ll be looking for an rss feed for Pokememes next time I want to go there, to use instead of this new layout.
One thing I do understand is changing the many links in the top navigation into dropdowns with the sites categorized by type. There were starting to be a lot of them up there and it’s always hard to figure out what to do in that situation…
Summary: load time is far too high, old layout is easier to read, new top navigation is fine.

The law of unintended consequences: Occasionally there will be post that would be too upsetting for a friend of mine, so I’ll warn him to stay off Failblog for a couple of days. Then a couple of days later I’ll go see where the upsetting post is and tell him it’s OK to read the first 4 pages or so. Last time it happened was when you debuted the infinite scroll. Oops.
I hate the new layout. Please take it back to the awesome it used to be.
Unfortunately I am not a fan of the new layout, for most of the reasons listed above. In particular, I hate the extra mouse clicks I have to do in order to “See More” when a list of links are listed in one post (which are my favorite posts to visit since they contain several stories all together).
Do not like this layout at all. Looks too cluttered and generic.
Still freezes my PC entirely for 30 -50 seconds and your hijacking me to this new version when I want the old one REALLY is rude. Fix it or stop dragging me here against my will only to have me stare at a frozen page. Boo on you. Srsly.

I think most reasons have been covered above. But I also don’t understand why the ‘Post to…’ and fb icons have to be so enormous. This really gets in the way on The Daily What, where you have to load the separate pages just to finish reading a few lines. Surely the content’s more important?
I didn’t catch the infinite page, as I’ve just been using the old sites, but if that worked properly, that would be awesome.

Please bring back infinite scroll, that was awesome! Don’t listen to all the Neanderthals out there using slow connections or whatever, the pages load up fine the new layout is way better.
This new design crashes my various computers whenever I visit your site. Not just my browser, my whole computer freezes for about a minute before I can move my mouse or anything. Before anyone comments crap like ‘Get a better computer’, there is nothing wrong with my computer. This is the only site that does it, every other site I visit is lightening fast with no problem at all. I have noticed there are other comments here mentioning the same thing. I love the Cheezburger network, so I’d hate to have to stop my regular visits because your site crashes my computers. I doesn’t happen with pages that haven’t been ‘updated’, they work fine. Please fix this!
I don’t mind the look but here’s how i browse. I look at pics and, if i think they’re really good, i keep them to show to my family. With the old layout if i download a pic it is pre-labeled, with the new layout it’s just a bunch of numbers and i can’t be bothered to rename every pic i want to show. So for now, unless this get’s fixed, i will stick with the old layout.
Awful. Hard to find the link to other captions of the same image, and a pain having to work out what to allow in Noscript so you can see comments, then having to disallow them again for something else.
Disappointing to see more Facebook being pushed onto us too, one of the web’s most obnoxious and all-round invasive sites. How about an option to not see anything at all to do with Facebook?
PS, the link to go back to the classic layout isn’t working on the ROFLympics page.

This look is too busy. It is similar to what all “new” features and upgrades seem to be doing: putting too much information on a page next to one another. There is no way to easily discern what information is important or anyway to “lead” the readers eye. Very confusing. Seems to be the outcome of what began with the “How to for Dummies” books, where information isn’t linear. Very sad. If this page design keeps up, I won’t be back.
It’s fine, but I still want the posibility to go to the next or previous pic when looking at a pic.
Now you need to back out to the list to get to the next pic. Annoying since I usually get redirected directly into a pic from FB.
This appears to be yet another bad case of “let’s change it because we can”. It looks as if someone wanted to play with all the possible options for formatting the page, and ended up with this disgusting mish-mash of stuff. The new page is NOT clear, NOT easy to read, and wayyyyy too confusing. On a scale of 1 – 10, I’d give this a minus 3.

Okay, the new layout sucks. I’ve tried to stay positive, but if you’re going to continue to get traffic from me a few things are going to have to happen.
First: Old Cheeseburger stays and WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER redirect to new cheese unless I tell it to.
Second: Any new sites (rolfOlympics, Dolan, etc.) get an old cheese version.
Or: the crash bug is fixed and New cheese becomes less of a resource hog. I can barely run a new cheese site on my old machine (which can multitask just fine with old cheese).
Thanks for sharing your feedback. To be completely honest, these requests are not going to happen. For many technical reasons, we are migrating away from the old Cheezburger platform, and it will eventually be switched off. We hope that you give the new Cheezburger a shot. We know that change is hard, but we love working on making the new Cheezburger great, and it’s still a work in progress. All specific feedback regarding layout, navigation, features, and performance are definitely being addressed. Some of these fixes take a little longer than others. We are here to communicate these changes along the way.
Will, as with Facebook timeline, the changes suck. If they are needed for technical reasons, fine. Just tell us why. If they are purely for cosmetic reasons, or to have a single mobile version, that’s not a good reason at all.
The Old layout automatically justifies the pics to the far left side, allowing for a slimmer total field of view that automatically is in the proper viewing slice for half screen viewing (the new layout is off left and requires scrolling right for each new page view on slimmer monitors). The Old, all of the site links on the bottom, allows for a very natural flow from one site to the next. The Old banners are awesome and need to be presented more (the little flags just don’t cut it). Most importantly the comments do not require a long loading time/ multiple script passes from script blocking software. This is annoying enough that I don’t read comments on new cheese sites.
The large, popular meme, pics at the top are a major resource hog and don’t add anything to the browsing experience. The position of the Meme titles and descriptions suck and are hard to read while predominantly scrolling downward (eyes follow the pics better than the text so titles are not glance read when they are to the side). Voting page is hard to find (anyone else know how to get to it or did it disappear?). The crisscross pattern in the background is completely unnecessary/distracting. Facebook fluff is annoying as hell and resource heavy.
Now for the positive, I like the presentation of the legal info at the bottom more, and the URL’s make more sense.
Point is, Old cheese is just better. I would rather have one more moment with it than 1000 years with the new one.

I do not like the “new & improved” site – it is awful – does not feel like home. I like the old one and if it goes away, I will remove cheezburger from my menu bar forever and never visit it again.
It ain’t broke, so don’t bloody well fix it!
I hate the new format. My PC freezes for about 60 seconds when the new format is loaded. Also, fewer pictures are listed on the page than before.
RSS feeds are still broken.

Why do you incorporate all different animals on the cat site? When I look at it I want cats. not wombats and hedgehogs! Make a site for wombats and hedgehogs if you want but leave them off the cats. Don’t just move them over to the dogs, either. I get that one, too.
ICHC became a hub for the most liked animal posts earlier this year. We gave the kittehs their very own site, lolcats, based on feedback from the community.
Every time I complain I’m proven wrong. This time it’s nice to know I was right. My computer freezes every time I load Beta. It does not always crash, but sometimes shockwave does. I DO have a high speed connection although my system is a kind of small one. It usually takes over a minute for the entire page to load and I can’t switch to any other page in the meantime. That is unacceptable.
Thank you for moving the title back above the images… That and the loading time were my main issues with the new layout. (Loading time seems to be better for me now.)
It would be nice if the comments from this site were above the ones from Facebook.
My only other suggestion is to remove some of the excess padding/margins – it seems like there’s a lot more space between images than there used to be. Maybe moving the “up vote” and “down vote” buttons over to the right, so they don’t take up quite so much vertical space (they are rather tall buttons) and reduce the padding between the divs with the “post vTwo” classes on them (the divs that each image and its related information is in).
It won’t work at all it just crashes/freezes constantly . I’ve never had this happen anyplace else only here what gives ?
