So you get a free collectible every day if you visit the site and go to at least two pages. It will pop up with a little message box on the side saying something like ‘you have found a collectible’.

I don’t get it! I got the broken ornament pop-up TWICE today. And each time I clicked more details and it took me to a details page. But when I look at my collectibles page, it’s not there. What on earth is going on? This happened to me once with Antlers too, and I STILL haven’t got a set of antlers for my collection!!!

if it’s any consolation, it was driving us crazy too as we had trouble recreating the problem on our end. thankfully, cheeztech saved the day and we’re fixing this issue hopefully today or tomorrow.

I have seen this and think I may know why. if you go to the site and get a collectible, since you get one a day and I don’t know your time zone. BUT if you use a different browser, computer or clear your history it thinks you didn’t get one today so it pops up BUT you did get one already today so it doesn’t get added to your account, hope that helps. that is pretty much how it happened to me. try mozilla and IE you will probably see it happen.
I’ve had the same thing as tltlbjt. I log on in the a.m. at work and get collectible. Then at night I go home and log in from my home computer and sometimes another collectible message shows up — though the collectible doesn’t show up in collections. This doesn’t happen when I log on to a different computer at work. So is this an IP address issue?
So, we believe that we have fixed this issue. If you are logged in on two machines, you shouldn’t get a second collectible notification in a day. Please let us know if you see this problem again.
@tltlbjt I wuz wonderin hao dat werks. Mai mom & I wer surfin on 2 different computers and both got a collectible since ai wuz nawt logged in on either wun. She doesn’t hab an account, so I logged in on both, and it only kept teh first wun.
So, my question is… how does it track when u get wun? Does in follow yer IP address? Or juss cookies in yer browser? I has a curious!
@tltlbjt: But Teri, that is the weirdest thing. I work from home so only use one computer and only ever use mozilla. And I always stay logged on to my cheezburger account. I am the only one who has an account in my family, and my husband doesn’t use my computer unless I’m around and we are both browsing something together (he has his own machine). These popups came on when I was using the computer and I had not changed a thing from how I use the computer/site from past.
Anyway, now I have cleared my history, cookies etc. and now I log off my account when I am not browsing the cheezburger site. Hopefully that might stop this from happening again.
I don’t work for cheezburger.com, I am just a computer scientist and kinda figured it out.
I would say its probably by history or user name. Since at times I log in using internet explorer and get a collectible and then open up mozilla and get a different one that does NOT take. That was before TODAY. it seems to be corrected now.
I don’t get it …. i come on every singe day – got 54 collectibles – 4 cranberries – no turkey – 4 sweaters – no reindeer antlers … got broken ornament pop-up this morning – then got another sweater. No rhyme or reason to distribution of collectibles.
