Starting this week (February 23rd, to be exact!), I Can Has Cheezburger will become a hub for all of the best animal content: gifs, videos, cute pictures, memes, and anything & everything else! But what about the kittehs? If you just want to see LOLcats and only LOLcats, we’ve made a new site exclusively for captioned cat images! Yes, you heard right: no gifs, videos or comics here — just 100% LOLcat, 24/7, 365 days a year.
After the changes, the I Can Has Cheezburger family of sites will look like this:

Although I do like the idea of kitteh-only site, ICHC as a “hub” doesn’t sound appealing to me at all. You gave dogs their own place, why not move all the other animals to Animal Capshuns and call it good? Besides, the web already has what you want to launch as referenced in my first reply. I will have to admit I’ve been unfaithful and have been spending more time there of late. I haven’t submitted any LOLz to them as of yet but I have a feeling that may be changing shortly…unless ICHC has bought that site as well.
You have already made changes that make the Home Page difficult to use and not much worth the time and effort it takes to navigate…not to mention having facebook shoved down my throat at every turn. I only joined that infernal site to keep in contact with a few good cheezfriends who abandoned *this* site. Now, on the AfterDark site, when a LOL is uploaded a message appears telling me I have a better chance at getting my LOL on the Front Page if I share it on facebook. That is bogus.
I will continue to make LOLz because it’s what I enjoy (cheapest therapy I know of) regardless of whether or not I get LOLz on the Home Pages – that isn’t why I play here. I will continue to play around in the profiles, make new cheezfriends and have fun there. I will not be visiting the Front Pages which now take forever to load and are too hard to read. I guess you folks are going to do what you have to do to keep the money rolling in but please know this: to this loyal user, who has been with you since the beginning, all your “improvements” feel like a slap in the face.
Way to go WW. Agreed on all of it!!! I am spending less time here and haven’t been to the Front Pages in a long time and rarely the Voting Pages. Really don’t like Facebook forced on me either. Why can’t lolz make the FP just based on votes/fav’s? Also agree that ICHC should be the kitteh site and others go to Animal Captions, Gif’s, wherever. I too visit lolcats.com on occasion and hope it will still be there. When cheezburger bought motivationalphotos.com the whole concept was ruined and not at all funny here. Please listen to the users. We listen to all of the feedback and we evaluate it very carefully when we make decisions here at CheezHQ. Unfortunately, some will disagree with our decisions, but we hope that those will understand that our improvements are directed towards the entire Cheezburger community. I only check my profile every now and then for messages, send a few collectibles when asked and nothing more. I fav and vote on what shows up in my feed on the personal site. Now I’m only here for the other cheez peeps friendship and chatting.
Bravo! Bravo! I could not agree with you more Winnie! Facebook this, facebook that… If I wanted to spend all my time on Facebook, that’s where I’d be, not here! Honestly, I am so sick of Facebook being forced on me for contest entries, customer service, and now ICHC, that I completely boycott it. I don’t have an account there and never will. If a site wants my input or participation, but will only allow it through Facebook, I don’t participate.
Now that ICHC did away with the collectibles program I only visit here rarely, and took a look at the home page today for the first time in a month. I didn’t even recognize it! I forced a reload on my browser twice before I accepted the fact that no, ICHC isn’t broken, they really DO want it to look and function like that… wow, just wow… I think I’ll be staying away a lot more now, and I’ll definitely avoid that broken looking, hard to view and understand home page when I do visit. Heck, you can’t even vote on the LOLs anymore (that I can find), so what’s the point? Where’s the fun?

@dollydally81: If I need to spend 2 out of those 5 minutes fighting with the site interface it makes me less happy and less want to spend time in this site. From bi-daily browsing to catch all the LOLs I had missed, I now only check my profile to see if someone had left me a message by mistake, look at the first posts on the Kludge Repair site and mostly that will be it. The main pages take too much to load and contain too many unrelated items to be an attraction. Your changes to improve this site only improve my productivity at work as I have one site less to distract me.
Thanks for the feedback NikisArmy. The new layout focuses more on the content, which we believe adds value to our users. The change has made the site load easier now that many of the social networking buttons have been taken off (although you can still access them on the single post page). We apologize that these changes make you less happy…we definitely don’t want that! We have had a lot of positive feedback sent in about the layout as well. We’ll continue to monitor activity as we work hard on making content driven improvements to our sites.

Our hilarious exploits like races and parades? Are we about to lose all our Archive access, without time to copy/paste/save 5 years of our particular treasures?
Turning ICHC into a hub sucks, guys – it just totally SUCKS. And I’m not buying your ‘mission’ statement for one millisecond. You are casting aside your most loyal and long-time members in pursuit of the almighty buck. And we feel spat on. Happiness? Where??
Speaking as someone who, in the past six months, has lost my home, my livelihood, my garden, and someone I thought was my best friend, I can only say that ICHC is rapidly becoming the rancid, moldy cherry on top of the s**t sundae.
I have to agree with Winnie. I feel as if I’m being elbowed off the site at times. I never went to the fp very often after some *difficulty* a few years ago. I’ve been one of the Old Guard from very nearly the beginning & have spent most of my time in the profiles, playing with my cheezfriends.
If y’all are aware that changes are difficult for us to take, why do you insist on making so many? If you want to make some of us happy, you could make a Cheezburger Classic ~ a “spoke” on the wheel just for those of us who remember how much fun we used to have. I mean, after all, you’re making all these *other* sites……..

Hey there nicewitch, thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. We have had many peeps ask for something like this, which is why we are so excited to launch it tomorrow. The ICHC comments that you have made over the years won’t disappear. You will not lose the archive access. We hope that you give it a chance, and we apologize for upsetting you.
What we were asking for, actually, was for all the non-lolcat stuff to go somewhere else. ICHC was originally cat-focused and uncluttered by ugly, and we asked that it be returned to that. Instead, what you’ve done is dedicate the house to the invasion of termites, rats and carpenter ants, and told the family to go be content living in the [Freshly Repainted!!!!!] garage. ‘Scuse me – I have to go bury my cheeseburger hat.
Sorry, forgot to say – I am glad we don’t lose the archives. Thank you for that.
What will the posting schedule be on lolcats? Still the same? More frequent? Less frequent?

When I heard we might be losing everything, I was sadder than I ever thought possible. Many of us regard this as our second home. A magical place – where we frolicked with our friends.
Very real friendships have been made as a result of this place. I myself have met IRL over 80 of them, and I hope to meet many more. And I must say, I’ve never met a Cheezpeep that I didn’t really like. I’ve been to many Cheezmeets, travelled with many . . , and although I have a perfectly nice RL, having had all the fun here and all the wonderful friends I’ve made has been literally life changing.
The very thought that we might lose it was the same for me as if I had been travelling and came home only to find that my hometown had been swept away and most of my dearest friends with it.
I cannot even begin to tell you how relieved I am to find that this is not going to happen.
